A precinct announcement can matter to a business without changing tomorrow’s trading arrangements. Keep two lists: longer-term changes to watch, and confirmed operational details that affect staff, suppliers or customers. This sourcebook is a checking routine, not a forecast of sales, a leasing recommendation or a live works bulletin.

Access: read beyond the headline
Start with our development tracker, then follow the official record linked in the relevant entry. Capture the notice date, affected street or entrance, start and end dates, and the issuing organisation’s contact. Do not treat a broad project announcement as a confirmed closure. Check public transport separately through Translink.
Give customers one clear instruction
If a verified access change affects your premises, describe the usable entrance, the applicable dates and where the customer can check updates. Avoid a vague “business as usual” message if the journey has changed. Keep that same instruction consistent across your own website, booking confirmations and on-site signage. Remove temporary advice when it no longer applies.
Keep a simple weekly watch list
Use five fields: source link, date checked, what changed, who is affected, next action. Assign one person to confirm each operational change before it reaches staff or customers. If a detail remains uncertain, record the question and contact the issuer rather than filling the gap with an assumption. This process can also help residents distinguish a proposal from work affecting their street.
